What is a Maternity Home?
A maternity home is a steady place for pregnant women who would likely otherwise be homeless. It’s a safe, caring environment where women can focus on their next steps – setting goals, preparing for motherhood, and planning for their futures. Here, practical help and genuine care come together so every woman can move forward with confidence. We want them to be empowered, connected, and equipped to pursue their dreams in their next chapters of life.
And for you, that stability can be the start of something new.
What This Means for You.
You do not have to do this on your own. At our Birthline Maternity Home, you’ll have people come alongside you. Our housing and supportive programming were designed for women like you facing unplanned pregnancies. It’s time for you to take a breath, make a plan, and start to see a way forward.
We will help you achieve personal insight and stability; emotional, relational, and spiritual growth; financial security; vocational wellness; parental preparedness; and physical health wellness. Let’s grow together.
Frequently Asked Questions
Who is eligible to live in the maternity home?
Our maternity home serves pregnant women and post-partum mothers who are 18 or older, experiencing housing instability, and willing to commit to a structured up to 18-month program. Residents participate in goal planning, education, and community living. All applicants complete an interview and assessment process to ensure the program is a good fit.
What are the costs to live in the home?
There is no cost to apply.
The program includes a $300 program fee that helps cover curriculum and resources, but the inability to pay will not affect acceptance.
As residents begin working, they follow a structured savings plan that helps them build financial stability and prepare for future housing. Our goal is for each woman to graduate with savings, not debt.
What kind of support will I receive during and after the program?
House-guests receive relational, educational, and faith-based support throughout the program. This includes:
● Safe, structured housing
● Individualized goal planning through the Eight Pillars for Growth & Hope
● Case management and mentorship
● Parenting and life-skills education through BrightCourse
● Financial, employment, and relationship guidance
● Spiritual encouragement and community support
Even after graduation, former residents remain part of our extended support community.
How do house-guests transition out of the program?
The 18-month program is designed to prepare women for long-term independence. Residents work toward personal goals in areas like emotional health, employment, finances, relationships, and parenting.
Before graduating, each woman creates a transition plan that includes stable housing, sustainable income, savings, and a workable budget so she can confidently move into independent living.
Can I bring my baby or other children with me?
Yes, house guests can bring their baby with them.
Due to space and program structure, we typically accommodate one child per resident. If there are additional children, this will be discussed during the application process to determine the best way to serve your family
